BACH-MEGATONE-Bass-Trombone-Mouthpiece No. 5GS, depth of cup: medium deep, cup diameter Ø 25.50 mm, rim shape: medium wide, semi-flat, throat: .261 inch -G- , backbore: 420 (modified), shallower -G-style cup with smaller throat and backbore than No. 5G produces easy high register, slightly brighter sound. The inner contours are exact the same as the original Bach Mouthpiece, allowing same basic playability. However, additional mass on the outside produces a darker, more powerful sound. The Mega Tone throat is also slightly larger than standard to increase response and flexibility. MegaTone mouthpiece offers a centered tone and a slightly larger throat affords less resistance and greater flexibility. The result is a warmer, more powerful sound that adds a new dimension to concert, pop and jazz playing.
