YAMAHA piccolo flute YPC-87R, the new YAMAHA piccolo flute YPC-87R gives the piccolo flute series a new direction. She has a quick, cheerful character and a wonderful sound. In addition to maintaining a more precise pitch and a good tonal balance, the piccolo offers excellent playability and control in pianissimo passages and in the high register. The thick wall of the body allows for a deep resonance and a bright tone at the same time. The narrower bore also enables a solid sound core and a fine expression even at low volumes. The response has been improved, especially in the upper registers. Sterling silver keys, key lugs and body rings contribute to rich, expressive resonance and great freedom of expression. Traditional French-style tapered flap arms provide a sleek look and increased reliability. Straubinger piccolo pads are used for the first time on a YAMAHA piccolo flute. They offer excellent coverage and a clear response that bring out the full sonic potential of the instrument. Extensive trial and error has resulted in a new headjoint design with a slightly square shape of the mouth hole, offering easier playability in high registers and pianissimo.
