Metallblasinstrumente / Blechblasinstrumente
Als Metallblasinstrumente oder Blechblasinstrumente werden alle Blasinstrumente bezeichnet, bei denen der Ton mittels eines Metallmundstücks erzeugt wird. Die Tonhöhe wird durch den Luftstrom und die Lippenspannung sowie durch die Veränderung der Rohrlänge erzeugt. Die Rohrlänge wird entweder durch eine Ventilmechanik (Trompete, Kornett, Flügelhorn, Tuba, ect..) oder durch einen Zug (Posaune) verändert.
Das Material der meisten Metallblasinstrumente ist eine Kupfer-Zink Legierung (Messing), ab einem Kupferanteil von ca. 75% spricht man von Goldmessing. Goldmessing beinflußt den Ton zu einer etwas dunkleren und weicheren Klangfarbe und ist resistent gegen den so genannten Zinkfraß. Den gleichen Vorteil bietet das Neusilber, eine Legierung aus Kupfer, Nickel und Zink. Aufgrund des höheren Härtegrades wird dieses Material gerne zum Bau der Stimm- und Ventilzugrohre der Metallblasinstrumente verwendet.
