Only carefully selected, long-aged, extremely fine-pored black grenadilla wood with the best sound properties is used for Karl Hammerschmidt clarinets. This selected wood is naturally dried in a strictly controlled maturation process and stored for years in our own wood warehouse until it reaches the maturity and quality to make a clarinet.
