K stands for Kerrigan: The Laskey K series was developed in collaboration with Chuck Kerrigan, product manager for low brass instruments at Eastman Music Company, and represents a quantum leap in the development of F tuba mouthpieces. This mouthpiece combines a unique rim contour, which differs significantly from Laskey's standard rims, with a medium-flat contour that provides brilliance and tonal presence for solo and orchestral playing. Available in three rim sizes (28, 30, and 32), most players prefer the 28 rim, which offers an optimal balance between articulation and response for a more athletic repertoire.
